Sight: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

See the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which provides care for about 80 elephants. It is a beautiful sight to see elephants walking down to the river. Three times per day, they are led into the nearby river to be fed and bathed. Seeing those baby elephants being bottle-fed is lovely and charming.

Sight: Kandy City Tour and Temple of Tooth Relic

When you go to Kandy, you should visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This most revered shrine receives thousands of daily visitors from both domestic and other countries.

Sight: Royal Botanical Gardens

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya are Sri Lanka’s oldest formal gardens. An estimated 2 million residents and foreign tourists visit this palm-framed location annually. The garden is well-known for its orchid collection and its long paths framed by palm trees. More than 4000 plant species can be found there, including palm timber, orchids, spices, and medicinal flowers.

One of such breathtaking locations that offers a broad perspective of the medieval town is the Kandy viewpoint. The serene Kandy Lake and ethereal mountain provide a lovely backdrop. If you wish to take a photo or document a moment of Kandy’s splendour from above, here is the ideal location.

Sight: Geragama Tea Factory

In terms of tea production, one of Sri Lanka’s most visited tourist spots is the Geragama Tea Factory. It is a charming depiction tucked away amid the rolling hills of Kandy. While you walk through the lush estates, the saris of the tea pickers will provide a pop of shade.
