Sight: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
See the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which provides care for about 80 elephants. It is a beautiful sight to see elephants walking down to the river. Three times per day, they are led into the nearby river to be fed and bathed. Seeing those baby elephants being bottle-fed is lovely and charming.

The garden is well-known for its orchid collection and its long paths framed by palm trees. More than 4000 plant species can be found there, including palm timber, orchids, spices, and medicinal flowers.
